Drawing Mickey Mouse at MSI

My favorite place in downtown Chicago is the Museum of Science and Industry. When I was young, my mother always took me there and had a hard time dragging me out.

One of my most favorite-ever places at the Museum was a so-called permanent exhibit called "The Starway." Despite its name, it had nothing to do with astronomy. Instead, it taught children about feelings, emotions, and self-esteem. It lasted throughout the 1990s. When I saw it was gone just before the nineties came to an end, it was hard for me to accept. My favorite part of "The Starway" was a large, rainbowesque spinner, which, if I recall correctly, was filled with questions and answers about how one would probably feel when a particular situation happened.

Although what used to be "The Starway" is now a warehouse, which I found out when I worked as an intern at the Museum in the summer of 2008, there are still plenty of things in the Museum for me, such as a model ship gallery (sorry, Titanic, Lusitania, and Andrea Doria are not among the models there), a Boeing 727 which was transformed to show people how flight works, and an always fun show to watch called "Jollyball."

Anyway, a special exhibit about Walt Disney was at the Museum over the Holiday 2013 season, which I had to see. On December 30, 2013, I did. One of the things the exhibit had was the Animation Academy, which I decided to check out. It provided kids with a tutorial of how to draw various classic Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse. Although this was geared for kids, I still figured this would probably help me improve my artistic capabilities.

After the teachers told the kids they could hang it on their refrigerator, I had a personal talk with them about my DeviantArt gallery, and they were looking forward to seeing these drawings posted on my "online refrigerator." I know I'm a couple months overdue posting these, but here's Mickey.
