Serapis Amy

Today, being the 239th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, is also 10 years to the day I first drew Amy in a dress styled like an American flag.

So I knew I had to do something special for this occasion. I looked no further than the flag used on the Serapis, a British frigate captured by the American colonists in 1779. I find the flag to be very interesting because, unlike most U.S. flags that have only red and white stripes, it also has blue stripes.

So, in addition to Amy's dress, I also included the Serapis Feather as a patriotic spinoff to her Warrior Feather. Also, why not even draw her giant-sized and throw Sonic (waving a miniture version of the current U.S. flag) and Billy (waving a miniature version of the Serapis flag) in there? Well, I never saw why not.

So I finished this, appropriately, on Flag Day, which was June 14th. After waiting a few weeks, I now submit it here to DeviantArt.
